*looks furtive*

ok. So this is kinda pantsverse... Random season five fluff.

"Yes, Daniel?"

Daniel Jackson scratched his head, eyeing the two people sitting on the couch across from him, and then looked at Janet Frasier. "Is there...?" He shook his head, gestured with the beer in his hand and decided to go through with the question. After all, Janet was a woman, and she would know about these sorts of things, "Is there something going on? With Jack and Sam?"

Her eyebrows went up, "Does it look like there is?"

"Well, no, but... Don't they seem... comfortable?"

Janet tilted her head and studied them, then shrugged, "They're sitting on a couch, Daniel."

"True."

Shifting on the arm of the chair, Janet smirked, "Of course, we look very comfortable. Is there something going on with us, Dr. Jackson?"

Daniel's eyes widened, and he tried to back-pedal, "Well, no, I mean, ah--"

She leaned closer. "Are you sure?"

"I'm flattered, Dr. Frasier--"

"Janet."

"Janet. Yes, but, I ah--Oh, hell." Daniel later blamed the beer. He wasn't that much of a light-weight, but it made a convenient excuse. Janet tasted like wine and potato chips, and having her sprawled across his lap was a little unexpected, but he could deal with that.

He could even deal with the cheering from the rest of the room.

--

"Nice deflection."

"Hrm?" Jack was concentrating on drawing a very complicated pattern on Carter's jeans-leg with his eyes. Very complicated. It did not, for instance, include occasional glances at the v-neck that exposed more skin than he was used to. Really.

"Janet."

Jack considered for a moment, then blinked across the room. "Wow. Go, Danny."

"Of course, I'm sure it wasn't ALL altruism." Carter said, her head tilting back, exposing more of the column of her throat to Jack's eyes.

He really had to get a life, one of these days. "Hrm?"

"I have it on good authority that Daniel's a good kisser."

"Carter."

"Sir."

"I don't wanna know how you know that." She glanced at him out of laughing blue eyes. "Really." His eyes became fixated on the hollow of her throat. He knew exactly how it tasted, and for a moment was very tempted to lean over and taste it again.

But that would be rather less smart than Daniel's current example of breaking the frat rules.

"Carter?"

"Hrm?" She stretched.

Jack felt his mouth start to drop open. Damn, she knew exactly what stretching did to him. He shifted, "Nice pants."

"Like 'em?" She stuck one leg out, twisting her ankle back and forth. "Cassie helped pick them out."

Suddenly, Jack knew why they were tight enough to outline every curve. His memory of her walking into the living room was more than enough to dry his mouth and make him very uncomfortable. He wondered if the pillow at the end of the couch would look unobtrusive in his lap. "Lots," he managed, finally.

"Good." Carter leaned closer for a moment, "I like them, too."

Now he could smell her perfume. And the wine she'd been drinking. Jack carefully leaned across her and set his beer on the side table. He didn't grope her, and considered himself very restrained as he settled back on his side of the couch.

"You're a horrible man," she murmured.

"You wore skintight jeans."

She smirked, "True."

His fingers toyed with one of her beltloops absently, "Really like them."

"So you said."

"Really really like them." He tugged.

"Oh." She considered for a moment, then sighed. "I should stop wearing them."

No! He wanted to object. He really did. But the things he was thinking about when she was wearing those pants were bordering on the illegal, if not downright salacious. "Probably." he agreed ruluctantly.

Carter patted his hand. "I'll just save them, then."

"For?"

She looked away, watching Daniel cuddle with Janet on Jack's easy chair. "Whenever I feel like wearing them again... And it's safe to."

It took Jack a couple minutes to decipher this (it could have been the beer), and when he did, he knew he started grinning like an idiot. "Safer, hrm?"

"Less... likely to be..." She leaned really close, and he could smell her skin and the wine again, "the cause of illegal activity."

Oh. The grin was definitely too damned big. His fingers tightened on her beltloop. "*Really* like these."

"Me, too," she agreed.

--

"They're doing it again."

Teal'c merely tilted his head, declining to answer what was patently obvious.

General Hammond sighed. "I should do something, Teal'c. But they're..."

"They sustain each other."

"When put like that," he shook his head. "It sounds almost spiritual. Or like a marriage."

"Indeed."

The general considered that for a moment, "Uh, Teal'c... You would tell me if they'd gotten secretly married, wouldn't you?"

It was not in the nature of the ex-first prime of Apophis to lie. So he did not. "Indeed."

"Good." General Hammond relaxed and raised his beer.

Teal'c raised his cranberry juice, and concealed a smile.
